| The tiny islet of Rolas is reached
by a 20minute boat trip from Porto Alegre in the south of Sao Tome
(85km from the city). The island is a fantastic place for relaxation
and scuba diving. The island can be visited in a day but to really
relax its recommended for a long weekend. Praia Café is the best beach on the island and there is a diving instructor for those who want to go diving. The islet is dissected by the equator, you can visit the equator mark and experience the exotic views. The whole island only takes a leisurely 2 hours to walk its circumference under the shaded palm trees, taking in the stunning beaches and greenery. The only place to stay on the island is the Pestana Equador Island Resort. This island is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and especially good for honeymooners. |
